Indian Holiday!

(Leeds)

My husband and I travel to Goa for the winter and I always take some cardmaking goodies with me to make on the balcony.

One morning we visited our local jeweller and were chatting away and I happened to say that I must get back as I had some birthday cards to make.

He immediately asked me if I would supply some to sell in his shop - which also sells clothes, bags etc. I obliged and have been making them for this shop now for 5-6 years.

My last visit was from February to April this year as I have been ill with breast cancer and couldn't go for our full holiday this time, and when I arrived the shop was in a panic as they had almost run out of cards.

Needless to say I made 350 cards whilst I was there. When at home I make cards for my daughter's church funds and for a greyhound charity.

My husband has built me a craft cabin in the garden as my crafting had totally taken over the house!

Christina says ...

Fabulous story and what a lot of cards to make. I am sure the shop keeper was overjoyed with your makes

Please take some photos of the cards you make and show us what the shop sells and add them to the Gallery pages

Lots of Cards for India
by: Judy

Hi girls,

Got the OK from the Oncologist to come to Goa for six months as bloods are all stable - arrived on 1st October and busy making my Christmas cards for the shop. We have had monsoon rain here for 2 solid days which is unusual at this time of year but I am nice and dry using my "ironing" board on the balcony (Its used as my card table when I am here) - don't do much ironing as its always full of other goodies!!!

Thanks for your comments ladies. My breast cancer is permanent unfortunately but is under control for now and have to have blood counts every six weeks but will go to Goa for as long as possible(by negotiation with my Oncologist). I will twist her arm. Just started making my Christmas cards and will take some ready made with me to Goa so the shop has some to start with.
