My first cards

I've been making cards for quite some time now and needless to say when I started I didn't have much like I have today.

One day as the years went buy my Mother asked me if I wanted her saved cards to use in my cards.

I accepted and she gave me a a box full of cards she had received over the years.

I went into the box to see what I could use and to look for ideas.

I came across a homemade card that someone had given to my Mom.

It was very busy on the front and when I opened it ...Wow .. there were stickers every where...there was hand made scrolls with heavy markers, drawings that looked like butterflies covering a marker error...I laugh to myself and thought...
"My goodness ...who gave this to my mother"??...

I curiously turned to the back of the card to see if there was a name...and to my surprise ..my name was there.....Then I really laugh and of course I saved it.

Whenever I want a good laugh I look at it....I had many good laughs too with my crafty friends...I just can't believe I gave that to my Mother but at the time I must have thought it was pretty!!!

Thank goodness for scrapbooking and all the good tools, papers, punches, etc that we have now...and it's getting better all the time.

Christina says ...

How sweet is that story and although you laughed at the card I bet your mum was thrilled to pieces with it when you gave it to her.

It was something very special for her to have saved it for all these years .... says it all really.

My first cards

GOOD MORNING ANGELE

I HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE WHEN I FIRST STARTED CARD CRAFTING. I SAW A FRIENDS MUM CRAFTING AND THOUGHT "I CAN DO THAT" LIKE YOU, I LOOKED BACK AND NOW SHUDDER AT THE CARDS I PRODUCED THINKING THEY WERE THE BEES KNEES. I ACTUALLY ENDED UP DOING EMBROIDERY ON CARD OF WHICH I WAS REALLY PROUD. SOME ARE IN CARD-MAKING-MAGIC GALLERY.

SADLY THROUGH FAILING EYESIGHT I HAVE NOW REFRAINED FROM EMBROIDERY. HOWEVER I DO STILL MAKE CARDS AND AM MAKING MISTAKES ALL OVER AGAIN WHICH I COVER UP WITH ALL THE LOVELY TOPPERS THAT ARE AVAILABLE.

I SINCERELY WISH YOU LUCK WITH YOUR CHOSEN HOBBY
