My first cardselling!

by Rinda
(The Netherlands)

I had just had my first cards sold!
We have a neighborhood center, and they had the first creative event.

I read about it, and well, I think I give it a try. The price is 8 euro to have a table. So I just have to search fitting envelope, boxes and enveloboxes, and thinking about prices. I started with 1 euro, the most cards, to 4 euro for a few cards.

Friday round 18.00 hours we can set up the table, my daughter helped me, she was very surprised about the amount of cards I have :).

The event was Saturday, from 10.00 hrs till 16.00 hrs. I arrived, a little bit nervous, and looked at the table, it looked very nice. I was nervous because, selling my cards, unknown people. Bit shy person I am.

But, the person who had organised it, did not think about Whitsunday. I think lots of people have a short break away, the weather was nice, so there came not a lot of people to the event, pity enough. But a few did came.

All the people who looked at my cards say they are very nice!! So my day was very good ;). Some people say I do not buy I make my own cards.

And then, a woman came, looked and.........
yes yes yes!! my first sale ever!! 1 euro and she is happy with the card.

Later I sold 2 cards to a woman, total I have sold 5 cards for 1 euro each and one card for 1,50 euro!

I am so happy that people liked my cards. And I have said to the woman who organised it that I like to do it again when they have an event.

And they will start it for one time every month, starting in maybe September.

And they like it if I will come.
nice is it not?

Hi Rinda
Well done. You have done what I have been saying that I would like to do for a while but have not had the nerve to do. You have spurred me on to have a go. Hope it goes from to strength now and in the future.

Edith,

thank you very much. I am gonna make my prices a bit higher, more people told me I can do that. because I use a lot of paper, flowers and so on. It is normal to ask a bit more, like you said.

My first cardselling!
by: Edith

Good morning Rinda

Congratulations. You have now taken the first steps of letting people out there know that you can offer them a service of making them a lovely card with designs that cannot be purchased in the shops.

Do not under price your work. However, I do say look at the shop bought ones and the prices, which are mass produced

You can create a personal card much nicer but a little more expensive. Genuine customers will pay that little extra for a personal card. I know I have been there.

Best of luck
