This is a card I made one day while playing around with some different techniques... I started with an A2 top folded card base made from black cardstock, rounding two corners with a corner punch.
Next I cut a piece of kraft card just smaller than my base, rounded the corners and embossed it, and then covered it with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Brushed Pewter.
I cut a 3 1/4 x 4 3/4 piece of white cardstock, rounded the corners and did a crayon resist on it, then inked over it with TH Distress Inks in Broken China and Pumice Stone.
Next I die cut butterflies from the inked panel (dies from Antique Flowers and Butterflies, Hero Arts) and did the packing tape technique using the matching stamps.
I then layered that panel onto black cardstock and attached it to my embossed kraft card, wrapped a ribbon across all the layers, and attached the whole thing onto my base card.
The sentiment was a freebie from Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine, and I stamped it and embossed it with Zing! embossing powder and cut it out using Spellbinders Lacey Ovals.
I stamped and embossed a fan design (also a freebie) and cut it out using the next size up in Lacey Ovals, layered it onto my card front with foam dots, and attached the sentiment on top.
For finishing touches I added a bow made from matching ribbon, and gems in the corners.

Such a pretty card and don't the rounded corners give it an unusual look, giving it your own personal touch
I love playing around with stuff in my craft room as it always fun to see what you end up with.
Sometimes it can be a really pleasant surprise and others maybe not quite what you expected ... but it is only card and paper and it is fun to start all over again.
