Hello, At 76, I have just started card making. I can't think why I didn't do it years ago. This card is the 6th one I made.
I like to choose a theme for the person and this one is a birthday card for my daughter in law who is always washing and Ironing. I had seen something similar somewhere, I can't remember where.
Firstly I printed and cut a photo of her garden that I had taken a few years ago to make it familiar to her.
I mounted the photo onto the card and cut it into a “centre step card”. I felt that this design of card gave the photo a slight 3D effect. (I love these unusual card cuts and this is a great place to learn to do them)
I then machine knitted (another hobby of mine) a mini jumper. Using food sticks and some twine, I added the washing line. I purchased the mini pegs.
I made the flowers using Xcut dies from areas from food packages. I have to say that I get a big kick out of re-cycling packaging in this way and now look at my shopping with new eyes.
I made the mistake of not weighing the card and the post office charged her for an extra 11 grams. I won’t do that again!

What a fabulous card this is and how clever of you to come up with the photo idea for the background.
I bet you got some comments about this and it is truly a card to treasure. I love the little sweater on the line ... it is all just so cute
Well done you and I hope you will keep up with card making now that you have discovered this lovely hobby. I also hope you will keep adding your creations to the Gallery page
