This Plaited Ribbon Card Tutorial will show you how to make your cards stand out from the crowd.
Plaiting ribbon, twine or hair is probably something that most women have tried at some time or another. And the look was always very unusual.
Just make sure that you have enough ribbon to complete the look for whatever the size of card you are making.
In the video I have shown examples of the ribbon added both down and across the card.
On the card in the video I have used the very dramatic turquoise and black and I was really pleased with the result.
Glitter was added to the flower for sparkle and it was made from the instructions in the Paper Roses Tutorial.
But on this one I have used the plaited panel to great effect with the image of the little girl.
You can use the ribbon all the same colour but I thought that to use the two colours would add yet another twist to the design.
You can also use smaller lengths to enhance any image that you have used to great effect... the choice as always lies with you.
These lovely silk ones are from Fantastic Ribbons
The black border in the video has been created from a mixture of the dies in the Spellbinders Edgeabilities sets.
There are three dies in each set, one cutting edge and two inserts, that can be very successfully mixed and matched with any other of the sets.
The ones I have used are the ...
Cutting Edge Classic Triple Scallop,
Insert A Classic Scallop
Insert B Classic Postage Stamp
If you wanted to add some texture to the panel that you will use to thread the ribbon through then you could always run it through any embossing folders or Masks that you have in your "stash"
The texture on my cards is created using a mask from the
"That Special Touch" range of 6" x 6" masks from Creative Expressions
I hope you will give this Plaited Ribbon Card Tutorial a try and that you will be pleased with the result.
Don't forget to add any photos to the Gallery Page and share them with others. Just add the information that they will need to copy the look and tell us something about yourself in the process.
You can add four photos at any one time so make the most of the opportunity to display your talents.
