I had a ton of ribbon scraps and pieces that weren't on spools for whatever reason (some of them came in packets instead, some were scraps that were too small to justify keeping a big spool for, etc)
So I wrapped them around index cards instead, taping an end to the card, wrapping it around (snugly, not tight enough to bend the card), and then taping the other end down as well.
The best part is that one card can hold several pieces. I put pieces of the same ribbon on the same card.
I put them all in an index card holder with dividers, sorted by color. Much easier to find and access what I'm looking for now!
The index card holder is in a shoebox along with the ribbons that still are on their spool, so everything's together and neat.

This is a really good way to store up all your bits and pieces when you have them left over from your cardmaking projects.
I adore adding ribbons to my cards and I can't bear to part with even the tiniest scraps ... you just never know when you are going to need it!!
And you can guarantee that the bit you have thrown away will be the one that you are missing to complete the next card.
