I love Spellbinders dies and the one to create Rosettes caught my eye.
But I decided not to purchase as I realised I could make the rosettes just as easily with a border punch and save myself the expense of the die.
With the die you need to cut 3 lengths for each rosette. With the border punch the full length of an A4 sheet is enough.
I used a Martha Stewart punch and after that cut it to one inch wide. It is 11 5/8 long.
I then accordion fold it the full length and glued the ends together at the last fold, so it forms a circle.
I punch a circle with a one inch punch. It gets a bit fiddly as you need to push the peaks down so the rosette lies flat.
Before I did that I put wet glue on the circle and let it get tacky. Then hold the rosette down and try to get the circle central on top.
I find it needs something to weigh it down as it has a tendancy to pop up again. It only needs a light weight or you will squash it.
After it has dried ok and the circle is stuck, turn it over and put another punched circle on the other side, it helps stabalise it.
You can make them any colour and vary the size. Make 2 of different colours and one smaller and place it inside the larger.
I have attached a scan of one, this is the basic one. Hope you like it and can use the idea.
