Spellbinders Strip Box

Gift boxes can be expensive to buy ... but Spellbinders Strip Box is easy to make and will really enhance the small gift that you want to give

You will need enough matching card to create the sides and the lid  and a piece of acetate to line the sides of the box 

The acetate also gives added strength to the sides so that it won't collapse when you add the gift that you are giving.

It takes a little bit of measuring but the effort is well worth it and then you can dress the box any way you wish with flowers or ribbons

Or keep it plain for the men in your life and add some aftershave as their gift.

I have used the Spellbinders Lonely Hearts Die for my box

The video tutorial will take you through all the steps needed to create this Spellbinders Strip Box for your self and you can vary the size of it by simply making the panels wider.

But make sure that you centre the die in each panel before you cut for a neat appearance or it will look really odd if they are all uneven.

You could line the inside with some coloured card instead of the acetate for another different look. 

You will need a sturdier weight of card and I have used the Hammered White 255 gsm from Papermill Direct

Once it is made you can add chocolates or perfume, a pretty scarf or handkerchiefs.

How about some jewellery for that special someone or maybe just some bath crystals or soaps.

I have added tealight candles to mine and they are perfumed and you can buy them really inexpensively just about anywhere. Wrap them in some coloured tissue paper to match the candles before you add them to the box

But please tell your recipient NOT to add the lighted tea light candles to the box.

It is not designed to be a luminary and it would be dangerous to do that. It is simply a gift box and is for presentation purposes only.
 But if you gave the battery operated tea lights then that would be safe.

Spellbinders have many sizes and patterns of strip dies that could be suitable for the inlay effect to this box. As long as there is a separate cutting edge to the die then it will work for you.
